Room Rates:
Rates and offers are based on double occupancy and are subject to availability. Rates do not include taxes or gratuities. Special offers cannot be combined with any other offers, discounts, or promotions. Unfortunately, our cottages are designed or equipped to handle additional guests. Each cottage is based on a 2 person maximum occupancy and the Guest House is based on a 4-person maximum occupancy.
Minimum Nights:
A two-night or three-night minimum stay is required on weekends (i.e., Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday), holidays, or special events at the winery, cottages and guesthouse.
Reservations & Payments:
When making a reservation online, you will be required to provide a valid credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or AMEX). Full payment in advance is required for all reservations and will be charged to the card provided.
If you would like to redeem an Afton Mountain Vineyards (AMV) Gift Certificate, please call 540-943-1991 to make your reservation to avoid unnecessary credit card charges. At the time of reservation, a credit card number will be retained for any remaining balance or for any incidental charges not covered by the value of the Afton Mountain Vineyards (AMV) Gift Certificate.
Please note that if you choose to cancel a reservation that has been paid with a Gift Certificate, your refund will be in the form of an in-kind Gift Certificate. There are no cash refunds.
Full payment in advance required for all reservations.
Check-In/Check-Out:
Check-in is anytime after 4:00pm. Check-out is by 11:00am.
Smoking:
The Afton Mountain Vineyards property is completely smoke-free. This includes vaping, tobacco or cannabis. Should you choose to smoke in your room, deck or anywhere on the property, you will be charged a minimum cleaning and damage fee of $250.00.
Children:
The Cottages at Afton Mountain Vineyards are a romantic couples getaway. Our accommodations are not designed with small children in mind. In consideration of other guests, we do not allow children under 10 years of age, infants, or toddlers. Children 10 years of age and older are charged as adults and are subject to room occupancy limits.
Lost Items:
Afton Mountain Vineyards is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items. Should any guests lose personal belongings, if recovered, the item will be recorded as ‘found’. AMV will make a reasonable effort to contact the guest if an item is left in the guest cottage after the guest has checked-out which will be placed in our Lost & Found safety box. We will ship items back at the owner’s expense including a shipping and handling fee. Any items in the Lost & Found, which are not claimed within thirty (30) days, will be donated to a local charity or discarded.
Damages:
Guests agree to be responsible and reimburse Afton Mountain Vineyards for any damage done by the client or client’s guest to the property. AMV will not assume responsibility for the damage or loss of any merchandise or articles in the Cottages or Guesthouse before, during, or after your stay
Pets:
Pets are permitted in designated pet-friendly cottages, for a $65.00 non-refundable pet fee per pet, per night per stay. The pet fee includes deep-cleaning of each cottage prior to the next guest’s arrival. Acceptable pets ONLY include dogs. A maximum of two dogs per cottage are allowed. Animals of any other species are not permitted on property. AMV welcomes Service Animals at any time. In this case the pet fee does not apply. Pets are not permitted in the main building or any other cottage or guesthouse. When outdoors, pets must be on a leash, in a carrier or held in arms. Pets are not to be left unattended in a cottage at any time, unless kept in a travel carrier or cage. Pet owners are responsible for any additional cleaning fees or damages to the AMV property. AMV reserves the right to remove any pet for improper behavior, including, but not limited to, excessive barking, biting, evidence of disease or urination or defecation in public areas. Maximum weight per dog must not exceed 45 lbs.
Visitors:
Afton Mountain Vineyards property is for registered guests only. We ask that you do not entertain visitors on the AMV property while you are our guests. We strive to offer all of our registered guests a 5 Star Experience while maintaining a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. If you have a visitor that wants to meet you at AMV or pick you up or drop you off, please have them register with AMV staff during normal business hours. All visitors must depart the property no later than 8pm.

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911. Our physical address is 234 Vineyard Lane, Afton, VA 22920. After hours cottage and guesthouse related emergency service is available. For emergencies only (no heat, no water, lock-out), please call 434-351-1259
Call-Center Hours:
Afton Mountain Cottages and Guest House Guest services are available Monday - Sunday, 7am - 7pm EST through our sister property, Iris Inn & Cabins. Please call 540- 943-1991 for assistance. If you have a medical emergency, please dial 911.
Cancellations:
Cancellations made at least 7 days in advance of a scheduled arrival will be refunded, less a 10% handling fee, or fully exchanged (100%) for a gift certificate to be used at a future date. Reservations canceled 6 days or less will be refunded if we are able to re-book your room for another guest in the full amount, less a 10% handling fee. Any nights that are not re-booked will be nonrefundable. All cancellations must be made by phone to be valid. Reservations made with an AMV Gift Certificate will be refunded in the same form. All credit card refunds must be made to the same card used to book the reservation. Afton Mountain Vineyards does not offer refunds for early check outs. AMV Gift Certificates are considered to be a form of payment. AMV Gift Certificates can not be exchanged for cash or refunded to a credit card and may only be used for Accommodations.
If your reservation was booked through STAY Charlottesville, your cancellation will need to be handled directly with them.
Protecting your privacy is our goal. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site, however, selling your personally identifiable information is strictly against our policy.
We have built our site with ADA compliance in mind and have utilized available tools such as Google Chrome’s ADA compatibility diagnostic tools. Please be aware that our efforts are ongoing. If you have difficulty navigating our website, we ask you to contact us via telephone or email and our helpful staff will be happy to assist you. Please note that our property is zoned agriculture and is an active farm. Our physical property is not ADA Compliant. We have no ADA Compliant features on the property, or in our tasting room, or cottages other than designated parking for those with disabilities.
